Stqarrija mis-Sovrintendenza tal-Patrimonju Kulturali
B’referenza għall-applikazzjoni PA 570/21, liema deċiżjoni hija datata l-20 ta’ Novembru 2023 u ġiet ippubblikata fil-gazzetta tal-Gvern fit-22 ta’ Novembru 2023, is-Sovrintendenza għall-Patrimonju Kulturali formalment talbet lill-Awtorita’ tal-Ippjanar biex jinbdew proceduri skont dak li jiddisponi l-artiklu 80 tal-Att dwar l-Iżvilupp u l-Ippjanar li jipprovdi biex il-permess jiġi modifikat u/jew revokat sakemm jiġi konkluż il-Heritage Impact Assessment li kien mitlub mis-Sovrintendenza u sabiex is-Sovrintendenza tevalwa l-konklużjoni tal-istess impact assessment. Dan il-Heritage Impact Assessment għandu jiggwida lill-applikant, il-perit u l-awtoritajiet ikkonċernati fuq l-impatti li dan l-iżvilupp għandu jew m’għandux fuq it-tempji tal-Ġgantija.
Statement from the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage
With reference to planning application PA 570/21, the decision notice for which is dated 20 November 2023 and published on the Government Gazette on 22 November 2023, the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage has formally asked the Planning Authority to commence procedures to invoke Article 80 of the Development Planning Act, which allows the modification and/or revocation of permits, pending the conclusion of the Heritage Impact Assessment, as requested by the Superintendence, and until such time as the Superintendence reviews the conclusions of the same Impact Assessment. This Heritage Impact Assessment is to serve as guidance to the applicant, architect, and relevant authorities regarding the impact that this development does or does not have on the Ggantija temples.
