Journey Through Heritage: Thematic Routes of Malta and Gozo
This year’s European Heritage Days (EHDs) theme, “Heritage of Routes, Networks, and Connections,” invites us to delve into our common and rich cultural heritage that connects communities across Europe. The Superintendence of Cultural Heritage is the Maltese national coordinator of this celebration, and it is proud to present a set of five specially curated thematic routes to celebrate this occasion.
These routes highlight cultural assets from the National Inventory of Cultural Property of Malta and Gozo, showcasing the diverse heritage that our islands have to offer. Each route is meticulously designed to connect participants with the unique stories and history of our islands, fostering a deeper appreciation for our shared cultural legacy.
These suggested routes include both public and private properties. Those who wish to follow these suggested routes are strongly advised to respect private property without trespassing.
The Superintendence plans to publish additional routes as part of this initiative, enhancing the exploration of Malta and Gozo’s rich heritage. We invite everyone to experience these routes and celebrate the connections that bridge us to our past and to each other.
